Occurence: Commen and frequent on all fields, rubble heaps and along pathsides; often also cultivated;
 
Related species: Lolium multiflorum Lam., common or Italian rye-grass; a forage grass originating from the Mediterranean area commonly acknowledged to be especially good fodder, very widespread today and greatly naturalized in central Europe (V - VIII);
