Occurence: Widespread on fields and grassy slopes;
 
Related species: The genus agrostis contains approx. 10 further species. The most frequent of these are: Agrostis capillaris L. (= A. tenuis Sibth., = A. vulgaris With.), common bent; frequent on meadows and slope pastures as well as in forests and brush (VI - VIII); Agrostis gigantea Roth (= A. alba aut. p. p.), black bent, redtop; widespread on meadows and in flood-plain forests (VI - VIII);
