How to lead a life without allergies

If you suffer from symptoms such as acute rhinitis, conjunctivitis, difficult breathing (asthma) after contact for example with animals, after a walk through the blooming countryside or after changing the sheets of your bed, you might probably have an allergy.

What is an allergy?
With allergy we describe a changed reaction of the organism. It is manifested in the tendency to overreact to certain substances. There are various types of allergic reactions which can appear in different organs and with corresponding clinical pictures.

What is an allergen?
Usually they are harmless substances (proteins) from outside the body such as pollen, house dust mites and their droppings, animal epithelia, moulds and foodstuff.

Allergopharma has specialized in the so-called allergens for 30 years.

First step:
You should go and see a physician you trust and who is specialized in allergies. These physicians usually have the additional title "allergologist".

Second step: Skin or blood tests
After thoroughly questioning you on your case history (anamnesis), your physician will decide which allergens should be tested. The most common skin test is the so-called "skin prick test".

Third step: Treatment
There are three methods for treatment which should or must all be used simultaneously mainly at the beginning. In spite of these methods, allergies cannot always be cured. The methods are: avoidance , drugs and injections (hyposensitization).
