Reinbek, Germany June 27, 2019 – Allergopharma, the allergy business of Merck, sponsored the EAACI-Allergopharma Research Award for the 19th time at this year's congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). This prize is awarded to young researchers who pursue or have achieved outstanding scientific and pioneering approaches in the area of allergology in the field of specific immunotherapy.
The 19th EAACI-Allergopharma Research Award was presented by Ioana Agache (EACCI President) to Dr. Flore Amat of the Epidémiologie des Maladies Allergiques et Respiratoires, Paris, France. "With her project 'Risk Factors for Asthma at School Age in Children with Early-Onset Atopic Dermatitis', Dr. Flore Amat has shown that multiple sensitization to food allergens and a familial history of asthma during childhood could convey a higher risk of developing asthma in children with early-onset atopic dermatitis", says Christoph Willers, Vice President Research & Development at Allergopharma. Dr. Amant received a prize of 10,000 euros, which will be used for further research projects.
